How to make a call

Answer your phone

When someone needs to contact you, 0800 Reverse will call your number to present the reverse charge call. The person calling isn't calling you directly, so you won't see their number on your caller ID.

Listen to the name of the caller

After answering, you'll hear an automated recording play:

“Hello. This is 0800 Reverse. <we’ll then play the name of person trying to reach you> is on the line and needs to speak to you reverse charge. <we’ll then play the cost of the call>.

Decide if you want to accept the call

After hearing the name of the person wanting to speak to you, you'll be asked whether you'd like to accept the call and be connected.

“To accept the call from <we’ll repeat the name of the caller> press 9 (or say ‘Yes’ if accepting on a fixed line), to deny the charges press 7 or hang-up.

Remember:

You’ll always hear the call charges before you choose to accept. If you don't wish to speak to the caller, hang up or press 7 on your keypad to deny the charges.

After you’ve accepted an 0800 Reverse call and been connected, you'll be charged for the call. If accepting on a mobile, you’ll be sent a one or more Premium SMS's to charge the call. If accepting on a fixed line, the call charges will appear on your next telephone bill.
